Hi, I’m ED.

…wait a second, capitals? Is my ego THAT big? Sort of. See, not only do those two characters serve as a nice, quick, easy-to-remember Internet handle, but they also form an abbreviation of my name (I don’t give out the full name until the second date, sweetheart) AND serve as my initials.

I currently reside in the Virginia suburbs outside of Washington, DC, but my heart lives in Richmond, VA. It’s the city Jupiter City in the comics is based on. Sure, it’s a crappy little city that’s surrounded with controversy, but I’ve come to love it.

Some people go to church on Sunday.  I go, rain or snow, to my local comic book shop every Wednesday (much love to Velocity Comics; you should visit them and stimulate the economy). Most of my haul winds up being superhero books, but there are a few others in there; not that I’ve got anything against indy books, but for some reason, I can’t break away from the over-the-top action and melodrama and excitement of the Big Two. Current picks:

  • Atlas
  • Astonishing X-Men
  • Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam
  • Blackest Nights (and all tie-ins, ’cause I’m a sucker)
  • Dark Avengers
  • Detective Comics
  • Fantastic Four
  • Gravel
  • Green Lantern
  • Green Lantern Corps
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Incredible Hulk
  • Justice League of America
  • Justice Society of America
  • Mighty Avengers
  • Nova
  • Umbrella Academy
  • Uncanny X-Men
  • Unwritten
  • any What If? that comes out
